  • Pours with an inch of mocha foam; dark beers give the best head. Retention is average for style, receding almost completely. Lacing is juicy and thick but runs back to level.

Aroma screams dark malts: roast, bitter, dark chocolate, and a bit of char. Caramel balances the dark bitterness.

Taste is slick, slightly oily and sweet up front. Middle is joined by roast and baker chocolate. Char, almost smoke, accompanies in the end, into the finish. Touch sweet as well.

Light end of medium body, maybe less. Low carbonation that could be amped up for more body. Immediate finish is juicy but dries a bit as it lingers.

The beers leaves a creamy/oily feel in the mouth that grows as one gets further in the beer. I like a roasty stout, no matter the style and this one fits the bill. Good beer. Enjoy!
