Poured clear with a nice looking, large, tan, frothy foam that you could almost eat. Nice retention with great spider web lacing.
A really good beer for the sniffer just as it is on the eye. Lots of sweet, molasses, brown sugar scents up front. There is splashes of breadiness and a big hit of floral hops that helps to offset the large amount of malt.
This is a strange but really interesting balance of big hops and big malt. Up front there is a blast of citrus hops but not overwhelming. The middle through the end give sweet and molasses malt flavors. They give a sense of nuttiness, even a strange earthiness. A bit of earthiness and citrus hops bitterness aftertaste. A little dry.
Medium carbonation and body with a sort of creaminess and even oiliness on the lips make for a crisp and clean beer.
Much more hops than I expected for the style but the west coast floral hops does the beer justice. Definitely a unique beer in which there is a good balance. Enjoy!
