Caramel, Munich, Pale
Hallertau, Mt. Hood
Poured clear with a nice tan foam. Lots of bubbles rising but the foam quickly dissipated. Some blotchy lacing.
Aroma is toasty malt up front and foremost. Slight roastiness. Light hops and fruity esters.
Taste of big bread/grain malt. Some toasted malt and, once again, very slight roasted malt. An obvious malt bomb. The light hops from the aroma comes in at the end of the taste. Aftertaste of malt.
The big malt makes this beer heavy in the mouth. Medium carbonation.
This is a good Oktoberfest but with a flaw: the fruity esters in the aroma that slightly carries through in the taste. If this wasn't present it might be a home run of an Oktoberfest. Still it is really easy drinking and crisp. Enjoy!
