Poured dark as night into my snifter. Had 1.5 inches of brown, bubbly foam that quickly became nothing much more than a thin coating on top of my beer. Blotchy lacing throughout.
Aroma is of oatmeal, roasted malt, slight chocolate, and minimal nut. Seems to be a perfect match for the style.
Taste has a brief hint of sweet followed by roasted, chocolate, and coffee flavors. Nicely layered. Hops is minimal if at all. Finishes off with coffee, even into the aftertaste.
Medium, if not better, body with an average amount of carbonation. Creamy and smooth to almost a fault.
This is a really easy drinking oatmeal stout. I don't think it break any barriers but it is way above average and so drinkable. It is nice to see such a small place produce such a well rounded brew. I plan on getting some more for long winter months. Enjoy!
