Poured with a single finger of brown foam. Fair retention and not much, if any lacing.
Aroma didn't have much in the way of hops but the big malt backbone was there. Coffee, roasted, and biscuit malts with a hint of smoke.
A really big and complex taste. Sweetness from molasses and smoke up front with coffee (bitterness) in the end. Between is evidence of roasted flavors and alcohol.
Medium or more carbonation with big body. Some creaminess here and there.
Don't know how much of this I could have as the smoke and coffee stay with you. Neither of which is a favorite flavor of mine. But it is still a good beer that I am sure others would appreciate more. Enjoy!
