  • Batch 002X3. Poured clear with some tan foam. The retention was that of a speed skater with only ring-like lacing around the edges as the glass is tipped.

Aroma - wow. Dark fruits, raisin, brett funkiness, oak, grape, cherry, and sense of the wine barrels it had been aged in. Just a wonderful delight for the nose.

Taste picks up the pace right behind the nose. Dark fruits and cherry start the beer off. Vinegar-sour flavor is part of the beer, adding a level of complexity but not overly so. Oak and brett throw their hands into the mix. To say this beer is complex isn't even cutting it. There is a ton going on here and it just makes for a rally fun beer.

Medium body at best as the darker color can be deceiving. Carbonation is medium or better.

I guess I am a glutten as I had the entire bottle by myself. In my defense the cork seemed a little loose so I just had to open it. Lives up to all the hype and expectations I had for this beer. If you have a way to get your hands on one, don't pass it up. Enjoy!
