Poured clear into my favorite mason mug. A nice inch of tan, frothy foam. Lacing begins as it recedes: thick and sticky.
Aroma is cherry tart, even a touch of vinegar type sour. A little touch of roasted malt is noticeable, but the tart funk is the focus.
Taste - wow. Not what I expected from the aroma. Sweetness up front with some tart, then the roasted malt, coffee, with bitterness (chocolate) in the finish.
A light bodied dark beer that has medium, prickly carbonation.
Beer had a little age on it. It is possible that it changed quite a bit from the initial bottling. Either way, I will never know, but I do like this beer with its strange mixture of aroma and flavor. Enjoy!
