Poured clear with a touch of chill haze. A nice lid of foam that was white and about an inch thick. Retention was a above average while the lacing was minimal.
Aroma is fantastic from the releasing of the crown, through the pour, and just sitting a couple of feet from the sniffer: grapefruit, tropical fruit, and some pine are melded so well together. Caramel sweetness is there to remind you of the malt backbone.
Taste follows with a bit of alcohol in the finish that hangs around. Bitterness from the middle on but not overpowering but well placed. Caramel notes help to balance.
After a sip or two seems to dry the palate. Light end of medium body, at best, with enough prickliness from the carbonation to not take away from the beer.
I have been on the fence about Arcadia beers up until this review. They did a heck of a job with the alcohol taking away from the overall drinkability. Enjoy!
