Poured slightly cloudy with close to a inch of white, bubbly foam. Retention was okay at best while the lacing was spotty and sheeting but not sticky.

Aroma is big on hops: pine and citrus. The citrus is mainly grapefruit. Resinous hops can be found between the sweet, caramel malt.

Taste is sweet as expected up front followed by hops that leave a bitterness in the mouth: pine and citrus. Towards the end of the sip a bit of earthy flavor comes through.

Medium body might be a little anxious but the carbonation is about average.

The high alcohol is hard to detect making the beer easier to drink than it should. Well balanced for a DIPA which aids in the drinkability. A step towards west coast IPAs for an east coast brewery. It could be a good thing or a bad thing depending on if you like the differences in the coasts ipas. Enjoy!
