  • A: Pure gold with slight haze. Soft off-white foam.

S: Note are faint, some bread and a touch of lemon citrus, and then way in the background a very distant belgian spice....maybe.

T: Very drinkable. It's dry and not sweet, and not bitter. In the after-taste there's faint flavors blended together. Maybe low grapefruit, a little breadiness. It's got a nice full mouthfeel.

O: Nothing out of balance in any way. It's smooth and interesting in a low key way. It's billed as a summer seasonal, which is exactly what it is. It's got rye and honey, which is probably what makes it interesting, but it's hard to say exactly why.

  • Pours clear with minimal to no foam. The bit that is there is white with almost no retention. Lacing is spotty and sticky which is surprising for the lack of original foam.

Aroma is bread malt that dominates the nose. A touch of spice with a bit of citrus orange. Faint.

Taste brings out my rye spice to the beer with some spice bitterness in the finish. Orange comes through as in the taste. The malt seems to be bread and pale sweetness. Also a splash of grapefruit bitterness that begins to build.

Medium body with minimal carbonation, dries out the palate.

The rye adds a nice piece to the beer. For a summer season beer with a twist I don't know how much better you can do. A quality offering that is welcomed back next summer. Enjoy!

Beer Notes
  • Line Dry Rye is a honey-orange colored pale ale. It is crafted with 10% rye malt and 10% flaked rye for a complex malt profile. American hops give Line Dry a crisp bitterness and a slight citrusy flavor. Clean and refreshing , it ends with just a small note of blackberry honey in the finish that brings all of the elements together. The name ‘Line Dry’ was chosen as the perfect fit for summer in the Willamette Valley. With only a small window of opportunity to practice this energy saving practice, we think it is time you sit back with a pint of Line Dry Rye and watch the clothes dry!
