  • Aroma, bready and a hint of saisonyness.

Look, nice tight head, thick even lace, good cling.

Taste, like the aroma. Non assertive saison-funkness. Not over bearing, not powerful, just present. Very- commercially accessible. Bready pleasant flavor even through out.

    Very light, slight crispness.

Easy to drink. This would be great on a summer day when you can drink a lot and don't have anything to the next day. It's very refreshing.

  • Pours crystal clear with more than a half glass of frothy, white foam. Retention is well above average. Lacing coats the sides, pretty thick. Effervescent.

Aroma is floral, fruity, and earthy. Saison type pepper with notes of lemon. Bright. Hints of brett are evident at best.

Taste is pepper up front that gives way to doughy malt. Yeast, fruit, earth, and slight spice.

Medium body with a spritz of carbonation on the sides of the tongue. Quite dry.

This is a nice beer: much better than I expected as I am not a fan of New Belgium. Nothing stands out to make this beer a must have but it is solid all the way around. Extremely drinkable. Enjoy!

Beer Notes
  • With earthy tones of ripe mango and lemon verbena, this bottle-conditioned ale reflects the hearty character of the southern Belgian and northern French countrysides. Brewed with barley, oats and wheat malt, Biere de Mars' celestial orange hue inspired the planetary play on words.

Brettanomyces, a wild yeast strain, added for bottle-conditioning creates a refreshingly sour flash across the palate. Lemon peel coupled with the lemon verbena imparts fruitlike character and a citrusy finish.
