A: Really a deep gold but clear as high pressure late August sky.
S: Peach fruit notes and sweetness. Draws me in.
T: Crazy maze of flavors. Funky fruits and spicy grass notes. Then sweet, but no specific sugar flavors. Rolls into a touch of dryness, but now citrus fruit. Finally ends in a really nice bitterness roll.
O: Cool ass beer. A seriously original take on the WC style. This should be a classic. Seeems esp Germanic with the 9.5abv%. This is what the drink of October fest should be. Hope to have again. BTW: great deal at $6.99 a bomber.
Pours crystal clear with minimal white head that runs away, hiding. Lacing doesn't exist.
Aroma is fruit, spice, and grass hops lead the aroma. The malt backbone is sweet, balancing. Touches of alcohol.
Taste is a bit sweet up front with minor grain, nothing else comes from the malt side. Hops. Herbal, spicy, and floral. Hops pick up in the middle through the end, creating a bitter finish that isn't harsh.
Medium body with minimal carbonation. The depth of body carries the beer in spite of the lack of carbonation. Dries the palate. Alcohol at the end.
An interesting beer and a little edgy for an anniversary beer. The hops are really nice, different, yet a touch of west coast still seems to be found. Not overly bitter for a DIPA. Enjoy!
