Pours on the hazy side. Two fingers of pure white, wispy foam covers. Solid retention. Thin, sticky lacing is covers the sides.

Aroma of fresh cut citrus: lemon, orange and grapefruit. Pine pinches the background. Hints of grain and sweetness.

Taste carries the aroma. Sweet backbone from lightly grainy malts. Orange, lemon and grapefruit hops begin early, staying into the finish where they are joined by pine that gives a dab of crisp bitterness.

Light end of medium body could be overzealous. Ample carbonation that might be a touch on the high side.

Maplewood is quickly becoming a favorite of mine in Chicago. They have solid offerings that are well crafted. Charlatan is no slouch. Good aroma and taste. Easy to drink without killing the senses. Enjoy!
