Poured clear with a nice single finger of tan foam. Retention is mild with the foam becoming frothy. Lacing is a little sticky, somewhat blotchy, yet web like.
Aroma is shows a big malty character. Roasted, toasted, caramel sweet malt are all packed in there. Nutty and coffee traces. Has a slight typical lager scent too.
Taste finds the caramel up front. Toasted and roasted come next with nuttiness. Roasted and coffee are in the finish with a similar aftertaste.
Medium body with a creamy feel to the mouth. Somewhere between light and medium carbonation, maybe leaning towards medium. There is a little alcohol there too.
This is very drinkable and the subtle complexities abound while working together to bring a refreshing, layered beer. Sometimes you don't know what to expect in a beer, you can expect a lot here and it will deliver. Nicely done. Enjoy!
