A frothy, tan, inch of foam covered the top of the cloudy liquid. Retention was average leaving behind a thick lacing.
Aroma caramel and toffee malt mingles with fruity and interesting scent. The hops is there too for some balance.
Taste is caramel and toffee malt with some nice fruits. A good balance with, of course, bitterness to the finish. Toasted malt and butter scotch flavors are there as well.
A nice big mouth presence to this beer. Carbonation isn't too far behind.
A really ESB with a nice fruity presence as well as a great overall balance. To me the style doesn't lend itself to being 3 or 4 beers deep. Enjoy!
