Poured clear with a bit of white foam into my Cigar City snifter. Retention was minimal.
Aroma is an earthy, grainy, and caramel backbone. The hops are citrus, pine, and a touch of spice.
Taste is grainy, earthy, and caramel malts that work together with citrus, pine, and spice hops. The spice hops seem to linger but doesn't leave much, if any, bitterness in the finish.
Low end of medium body might be gracious with a complimentary carbonation.
I wouldn't say my favorite of the IPA specials but it is just out of the team photo. Easy to drink and a nice balance, in spite of the high alcohol. Enjoy!
