  • Poured clear with a minor amount of off-white and thick foam. Retention wasn't great while the lacing was spotty and somewhat thick.

Aroma is malt and all malt. Sweet caramel and bread malt. The caramel malt also gives off the nose of being a little on the toasty/burnt side. I find it difficult to find any hop presence in the scent.

Taste pretty much is a carbon copy of the nose. Malt forward and throughout. Caramel, bread, and toast malts hit the palate up and down the river. There is a hop twinge (bitterness) at the end but minimal.

Medium in the mouth with about the same amount of carbonation. Both suit the beer well.

The American amber/red category is so damn huge with such an enormous amount of just throw this beer in here bravado, that this style could have three or four sub-styles of it. This beer has a good malt character and is easy drinking. Refreshing on a warm day in the summer and I could see how it would satisfy when colder. A quality beer all the way around. Enjoy!
