Poured clear into my glass. Foam was more than ample, tan, and creamy thick. Retention was above average with lacing starting immediately: sticky and layering.
Aroma is malt forward, mainly a nice roasted blend. Some spice and a nice bitterness to the finish that isn't lasting. The makings of ever so light coffee are there too.
Medium mouth about the same amount of carbonation. A little lighter in the mouth than you would expect from a darker beer. Some citrus burps here and there lend reason to a more complex hop profile than first expected.
For a "bigger" beer, this is still quit refreshing on this ridiculously hot and humid day in Chicgoland. I believe they are already on Batch 04 for this series. Too bad, I could go for more of this. Enjoy!
