Poured clear with a huge amount of pristine white foam. I sometimes start to think that an aggressive pour into my mason mug for some reason creates this. Nice retention and some good spider web lacing. Big floral hop aroma. Citrus is there with its back. Malt has its place also. Taste of sweet up front. The middle starts the floral hops through the end. Citrus hops and fruity notes join for a very jubilant finish. For the amount of hops, not really bitter. Clean after taste. Light b...read more

Poured clear with a huge, off-white foam that became frothy as it dissipated. A great amount of retention for an fest beer; probably the most I have seen. Nice spider web lacing. Aroma is toasted, even some bread malt. A nice grassy hop scent fills with a nice balance of malt and hops. Taste has some sweet up front with the middle big on toasted/roasted malt. Finishes with some bread malt but mostly hops. Slight bitterness which quickly ends. Light body and carbonation but crisp and refr...read more

Poured clear with two fingers of white foam. Retention is outstanding for style, while the foam diminished it became a little bit frothy. Aroma is grain malt and some grassy hops. Not a huge amount of malt like I expected from an Oktoberfest beer. Taste continues from the nose: some malt and hops but not enough to make a "bigger" fest beer. Slight bitterness in the end. Carbonation and mouth feel are both on the light side. Maybe even a little bit watery. I really enjoy Central...read more

Poured clear with a nice inch or more of off-white foam. Good retention for the style and as the foam fades away, becomes a little frothy. Some splotchy lacing. Aroma is big on grain and bread malt. Some grassy hops play in the background. Pleasant aroma. Sweet malt up front with bread and grain malt mixed in the rest of the way. A good hop hit in the end with a little bit of bitterness. A nice addition. Light (high-end) carbonation and medium body. A hearty beer based on the amount of...read more

Poured clear with ample, white foam. As it dissipated, the foam did pick up a little frothiness. Retention and lacing were minimal. Sweet caramel and grainy malt. Some hops come through but more of a hind site aroma. Taste is full of the caramel malt, mainly. Some grain malt, especially in the end and after taste. Touch of hops. A nice mouth feel as it is a little filling, bready. Good amount of carbonation. Your average Oktoberfest beer. Nothing stands out but does a good job of sati...read more

Poured clear with a huge amount of frothy, white foam. Some really nice retention - the amount you would expect from so much foam. Good spider web lacing. Nice looking beer. Aroma carries itself from the glass to my nose while sitting on the table. Nutmeg, cinnamon, and pumpkin - some malt too. Amazingly despite the ease of distance of the aroma, overall it isn't that strong of an aroma. Taste carries on from the nose. Cinnamon is by far the strongest spice in the taste, which is a littl...read more

I have been reviewing a lot of "fall" beers, mainly Oktoberfest, but this beer takes the cake for the best of the season with the hop presence. Poured clear with about half-inch of white foam. Surprisingly it didn't last long. Lacing is blotchy. Aroma is so awesome. Hops of all types: pine, citrus (orange, grapefruit), and floral play the nose like a accomplished violinist plays a 200 year old finely tuned instrument. Minor sweet malt. Taste has a splash of sweet malt up front, ...read more

Poured clear with a single finger of white foam. Fart in the wind type of retention and no lacing. Aroma big on toasty and grain malt. Pleasant combination where neither takes over but work together. No hops but overall typical lager aroma. Big grain malt on the taste as the malt backbone slaps you in the face. Toasted malt takes a back seat and no sweet malt at all. Some slight hop bitterness with a grain after taste. Nothing spectacular. Light body and carbonation. Very dry finish bu...read more

Poured clear with a couple of fingers of off-white, frothy (nice for the style) foam. It still didn't hang out long but was pretty before it vanished. Toasty malt with a huge amount of sweetness (like a sugar bomb). Caramel aromas, almost caramelized sugar to be exact. Really too much sweet and not the greatest for the style. Taste has sweetness in some capacity throughout. The middle brings about toasty and grain malt. The finish has a slight bite with more sweet caramelization coming th...read more

Poured clear with a finger of off-white foam. Typically the foam didn't have much retention or lacing. Aroma has pumpkin, spice, and malt. The high alcohol really is hard to find but the balance in the aroma is nice. The taste is sweet malt, pumpkin (which isn't over down but shows nicely), and spice (nutmeg and cinnamon). Once again a good balance. Medium carbonation and body. One of the better pumpkin beers in terms of tasting the pumpkin. The spice is subdued yet apparent. The alcoho...read more

Poured clear with a white, one-finger foam. It disappeared of course like the beers of this style but had a little more staying power before it become chicken pox on the top of my beer. Aroma has grain and toasted malt. Grain is dominate. Some sweetness. I don't have the greatest sniffer but no hops. The taste has grain malt throughout, there is some sweetness and toastiness. No hops are present. A to style Oktoberfest beer. Medium body and mild carbonation lend to a smooth, clean, and ...read more

Poured clear with about a quarter-inch, white foam that acted like Cinderella as the clock struck 12 - gone in a flash. Some very minor lacing. Aroma of pumpkin, all-spice, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Some grainy like malt seems to be the backbone. The taste sort of let me down. After the aroma I expected more in the taste but there was a definite pumpkin flavor; refreshing. The spices and malt are slight. Fair amount of carbonation but lack of flavors in the taste make this feel watery to me. ...read more
