Poured slightly hazy into my mason mug with lots 'o white, big bubbled, thick foam. Good retention as I had to wait to pour the rest of the bottle. Some quality lacing coming out of all that fluffy stuff too. Nice looking. Aroma is a very nice Hef. Bananas, clove, yeast, and a note or two of sour apples. Right on! Pours clear and pretty thick, white foam, three fingers in depth. Nice retention and some okay lacing. Aroma is very complex with plenty going on. Spices (pepper and coriander), grassy, and sweet bread. Plenty for the nose to enjoy. Taste starts off with malt, which is quickly followed by big pepper and spices in the middle, finishes with a cornucopia of flavors: fruit, hop bitterness, and yeast. Quite complex and enjoyable. Poured cloudy with a lot of big bubbled, white foam. Filled the glass several times. Good retention but not much lacing. Aroma has earthy, grainy malt with fruit and some clove. Malt aroma is quite big. The taste is of malt, clove, graininess, and fruit. A little bitterness at the end. Some funk at the end. Big carbonation and medium body. Poured cloudy with floaties into my favorite mason mug. More foam than most any beer I have had. Big bubbled, off-white, and as tall as a mountain. Good retention and lacing. Aroma is big on fruits. Some minor spices, possibly due to the hops. Very minor sour and sweet malt. Taste of sweet malt up front, followed by the fruit in the middle (pear and white grape), finishes with more sweetness, some spices, and slight touch of sour. Not sour like I expected it to finish. Poured clear with a finger of off-white foam. Foam quickly retreated to a thin coating over the top of the beer. No lacing. Aroma has yeast and some in your face alcohol. Hints of spices and fruit. Similar to the nose. Lots of alcohol on the finish. Just not that well balanced for me. I don't mind alcohol but I don't want it to slap me in the face either. Enjoy!...read more

Pours clear with a single finger of tan foam. Retention, ha, quickly became less than a thin coating on the top of my beer. Minimal lacing. Aroma is big on caramel and roasted malt. There is some fruit on the backend of the aroma. Some small sniffs of alcohol at the end too. Taste is similar: big caramel malt at the beginning switching too dried fruit and roasted malt in the middle, while finishing with more roasted malt and a splash of bitterness from hops (almost non-existent). Poured clear into my mason mug with two fingers of fluffy, white foam. Retention was minimal as the foam quickly became just a thin layer at the top of my beer. Retention wasn't much either. Aroma is of yeast, spices (pepper and coriander), grassy, and some mild fruit notes. Mild overall aroma but complex. Poured clear with three fingers of tightly packed, white foam. Foam lasted a few minutes until it became a thin coating on the top of the beer. Lacing was mainly at the beginning where the beer receded from its' original pour. Aroma has sweet malt and citrus and floral hops. A very soft, enjoyable scent. It seems as though New Glarus has put this beer into retirement. I remember having this beer some five or six years ago and just hoping for the day to get another. Cheers to my last Uff-da for the foreseeable future. Poured clear with thick, light-brown foam. There was a little retention that retreated to a thin film. Some lacing. Poured clear into my mason mug. Had a thick, white foam the size of Ben Wallace's fro. Great retention and some nice lacing. Sticky stuff. Aroma has some light piney notes behind the larger citrus hops scents. There is a nice balance of hops along with caramel malt. Not over aromatic. The flavor once again has the piney and citrus hop mix, with the piney hops maybe taking a bigger part of taste but, the citrus hops still in the starring roll. Poured clear with enough mocha colored, thick foam to give my glass an afro. Really nice retention and spider-web lacing. Nice looking beer. Big sweet caramel malt on the nose. Not much else; maybe some dry fruits. Very malty on the palate. With some chocolate that comes out in the middle and finding it's way into some burnt malt and mild coffee flavor. Poured clear as a beautiful summer day with three fingers of white foam. Retention is minimal, quickly becoming just a thin layer. Lacing is minimal. Aroma is tart cherries, oak, and some yeast. Not really what I expected by sticks closely to the style. Taste of tart and sour fruit (probably cherries) with some oak flavors. Light to mild carbonation and body. Complex and an interesting beer.
