Pours slightly hazy with a finger of fluffy, white foam. A little bit of retention and good lacing throughout. Aroma is big on wheat and bread. There is a little clove on the nose but no citrus. The taste is full of wheat also. Bready notes and some sweetness to help balance. I sensed the clove also. Finishes dry. Don't shoot, but some sort of lemon or orange (citrus) slice is screaming to be thrown in here. Medium amount of carbonation and very light mouth feel. Sweaty Betty is a simp...read more

Poured into my English pint glass with a slight haze. Single finger of white foam with little retention and slight bit more of lacing. Aroma has wheat, yeast, and very mild fruit. There are spices present, maybe coriander but I just finished a Witbier before this one, so maybe I have that on the mind. Taste follows. The spice from the nose just says coriander but also tastes peppery. Bready notes are in the middle. I don't taste an hops at all. High end of light mouth feel with lots of c...read more

Poured clear with quarter-inch of fluffy, white foam. No retention or lacing detected. Aroma has wheat right up front, followed by coriander. Lemon or orange zest is faintly represented also. Taste follows directly from the nose: starts with lots of wheat, followed by coriander and citrus. Leaves a little coriander/wheat after taste. A lot of carbonation and medium mouth feel. This beer is crisp and inviting. An easy drinker. A really good representation of the style. Enjoy! ...read more

Poured into my English pint glass. If you don't hold it up to the light it is easy to call this beer brown. Had half-inch of off-white foam. Little retention or lacing. Big coffee on the nose. Not mocha, latte or any of that other crap, just raw coffee. Smelling it reminds me of some stand-up by Dennis Leary about getting just a coffee at a "coffee" store. Put a smile on my face. I tried but I don't get anything else. The flavor, once again, is full of coffee. There are some ...read more

The beer pours and looks brown but when held up to the light it is actually a dark amber color and clear. Half inch of off-white foam with little retention and lacing. Loads of maltiness here: aroma is sweet, caramel, and cereal malt. A very nice mixture and delicious on the nose. Has tastes of caramel, toffee, and roasted malted. There is also some smoke and nuttiness. Very smooth finishes with little after taste, making for one quality sip after another. Slight piney hops near the end ...read more

Pours clear in my English pint glass with three fingers of fluffy, pink-hued foam. Actually one of the nicest looking froths I have seen. The aroma makes you believe that there has to be raspberries in the bottle. Sweetness that I would associate with sugar. The taste follows. Full of raspberries throughout while finishing with some tartness. Sugary sweetness is hard to miss also. Lots of carbonation with a light body that can possibly make you pucker. This is one of the better fruit b...read more

Pours into my English pint glass with two fingers of thick, brown foam. Retention was average at best, with thick lacing throughout the cup of liquid goodness. Some of the thickest lacing I have seen in a beer for a while: been drinking too many summer beers. Big aroma of coffee, bitter chocolate and roasted malt. Each of these scents seem to be equally in the aroma. The coffee and chocolate are right up front with the roasted malt at the end. The flavor is every bit as big as the aroma. ...read more

Pours clear with three fingers of fluffy white foam. Good retention with some lacing throughout. Some caramel malt was hiding behind citrus from the orange and grapefruit hops in the aroma. I also pick up some earthy almost musty aroma. Flavor starts off with the caramel, sweet malt, which then is followed by the earthiness that I found in the aroma. Finishes with some bitterness but hidden underneath is a little orange flavor that sticks its head out. Note: if you drink this one too cold,...read more

Pours with two fingers of off-white/light brown thick foam. Good retention with some spiderweb lacing. Aroma is some sweet malt up front with hops that is pleasantly part of the scent but not overwhelming. The hops has some citrus and piney notes. As the beer warmed a little there were some earthiness to the scent also. They do a nice job of actually melding these scents together to create a really complex aroma. The taste has some hops to begin with some earthy undertones. The beer finis...read more

Poured three fingers of fluffy, white foam into my favorite mason jar mug. Good retention with average clumpy lacing (not nice webbing). Hops is the main portion of the aroma. Citrus hops at that. Not a hop monster like the name might imply. There seems to be some sweet caramel malt in there too. The taste is just flat out delicious. Starts out with the sweet malt, followed by some citrus, finishing with some orange peel, hop bitterness, slowly ending a little dry. Not much carbonation b...read more

Poured into my pint glass clear with a tall, off-white, thick foam. I had to wait for a second pouring to finish the bottle. Good retention with some lacing throughout. Aroma has some sweet malt with chocolate, vanilla, and, of course, some bourbon scents. A very enjoyable scent that makes one want to enjoy it many times. Oh, the flavor. Starts with the malt while the middle is full of chocolate creaminess with a finish of slight bourbon flavor and temporary bitterness from hops. Damn yum...read more

Poured with a light brown, two-finger foam. Some retention that dwindled down to a thin film on top of my beer. Lacing was there but not that much. The aroma is of malt, chocolate, and coffee. Actually a really nice aroma that is pleasant on the nose and makes you want to see if the taste is just as pleasing. The aroma doesn't let the taste down. The taste starts off with the malt, followed by a some smooth chocolate, while ending with some coffee and bitterness. Note: a little warmer and...read more
