Fruity and tropical accentuated by the yeast esters. Malt character limited and neutral - toast, wheat or honey cereal character. Mouth meal is soft, silky, chewy that is more full bodied - commonly linked to oatmeal stout because of the use of flaked malts. Finishes wet and juicy. Moderate bitterness.

History

The style was invented in the Northeast Untied States, specifically Vermont sometime around/after 2010. Heady Topper from Alchemy Brewing is considered to be the first example of the style.

Look

The style is highlighted with by a straw to yellow appearance, sometimes tending towards orange. Hazy with many examples opaque, creating low visibility from particulate in suspension. Foam is white, stiff, large bubble and rocky as it slowly recedes.
