- Visited with Kaila as part of a brewery tour of the area. This was our fourth and final stop.
Never heard of the brewery. I had it in the database as Spiteful, which it was, but they moved out. Demo took it over just about two years ago.
I had a porter that supposedly had coffee in it and was sold to me on a big roasty profile. Alas, that wasn't my experience. It was a good porter but not great, especially since I like a big roastiness that wasn't there. I am bout 60% leaning towards having that beer again. They only had 7-8 beers on tap which made me initially think they were only 6 months of less in business.
The service is out of site. The two bartenders do a great job of checking in, staying alert and keeping the patrons glasses full.
I like the space and that there fermentors are open but there are two issues: seating and the single bathroom. They lack the seating for the people that were there. The space isn't huge but there is a lot of wasted space, especially when they had seating with "reserved" on it. Now to the bathroom. Yes, one bathroom that was gross at best. I offered to go somewhere else so my daughter would not have to endure the lack of cleanliness.
Pricing is about what I would expect.
Accessibility is a tough one. They are deep in the north side of Chicago that, from where I live, doesn't have easy access from an expressway. Once in the neighborhood, no problem.
