African Queen was bred in South Africa with pedigree of 91J7/25 and South African male 94US2/118. A star in hop forward beers.

African Queen could be the first hop that has a great aroma profile outside of the ideal latitude band: 40° to 54°N parallel. African Queen was bred at 34°S latitude in the city of George (Western Cape).
