Epic Hops: Profile & Substitutions
Description
Epic was found in 1987 growing in a hedge adjacent to a hop field in Sandhurst, Kent by Chris Nicholas. The oil composition of the hops suggests that it is related to Alliance.
Until 2004 Epic was grown for ornamental purposes, after which it was given a small plot for trials. Large yields have helped this hop "grow" commercially.
