Hop: Galaxy™
Description
Galaxy™ was bred by Hop Products Australia (which controls a huge amount of Australian hop production) at the Rostrevor Breeding Garden in Victoria in 1994. Galaxy™ was commercially released in 2009 (first appearing in 2011 in the United States). It is an offspring from a female known as J78 and a male derived from Perle.
The large amount of oils in the hop produce a huge passion fruit and citrus flavors.
A dual purpose hop that is so flavorful and aromatic that it doesn't make sense to use it early in the boil.
