Hop Savant - Amarillo

Pours slightly cloudy. A pure white, softly packed foam covers which quickly runs away and hits leaving sporadic light traces of past glory. Aroma is lemony tartness. There is a sweetness that keeps getting beaten back by tart. Brett, floral hops and lemon grass mingle in between. Taste is a bit of a let down. Never really builds to a medium level of excitement to the mouth. Lemon, tartness, Brett and a touch of sweetness coexist. Medium body with mild carbonation. Dry. No bitterness in the finish but a sweet-tart. The flavors never developed. The aroma is nice but for a beer labeled with Hop and Amarillo, I feel that is lacking as well. Not a bad beer just not a great beer that I am used to having from Crooked Stave. Enjoy!
