Terms of Service

Last updated: September 1, 2026. These terms govern your use of TwoBeerDudes. They are not legal advice; have qualified counsel review them before relying on them in production.

1. Agreement

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are a contract between you and TwoBeerDudes (“we,” “us,” or “our”) for use of twobeerdudes.com and related services (collectively, the “Service”). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Eligibility

The Service is about alcoholic beverages and is intended only for people who are of legal drinking age in their jurisdiction. By using the Service, you represent that you meet that requirement.

Account registration is currently limited to users accessing the Service from the United States, as determined by our registration and security checks. You must provide accurate registration information and keep your account credentials confidential.

3. Your account

You are responsible for all activity under your account.
Usernames are permanent once chosen; choose carefully.
Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, pose a security risk, or remain inactive for extended periods, subject to applicable law.

4. User content

The Service allows you to submit content such as beer and establishment reviews, ratings, check-ins, profile information, and images (“User Content”). You retain ownership of your User Content, but you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, display, and distribute it as needed to operate and promote the Service (including showing your username and content to other users according to your profile settings).

You represent that:

You have the right to submit the User Content you post
Your User Content is accurate to the best of your knowledge or clearly presented as opinion
Your User Content does not violate these Terms or applicable law

Profile sharing is off by default. You control whether extended profile information is visible to other members through your account settings.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of alcohol-related laws
Harass, threaten, defame, or impersonate others
Post spam, malware, or misleading commercial solicitations
Scrape, crawl, or harvest data from the Service without our written permission
Attempt to bypass security, rate limits, registration restrictions, or access controls
Upload content that infringes intellectual property or privacy rights of others
Misrepresent your affiliation with a brewery, bar, or brand

We may remove or disable User Content and suspend accounts that we reasonably believe violate these rules or harm the community.

6. Directory, trends, and reference information

The Service includes brewery and establishment directories, hours and amenity information, historical opening and closing dates, trend charts, statistics, maps, and similar reference material (“Directory Data”). Directory Data is compiled from public sources, member submissions, and ongoing research—not from official government or regulatory filings.

Directory Data may be incomplete, outdated, or incorrect. Opening and closing years, business status, hours, tap lists, and event information can change without notice. Charts and analytics derived from Directory Data reflect our records at the time displayed and may change as we update the database.

Directory Data is provided for general informational and entertainment purposes. Do not rely on it for business, investment, legal, or travel decisions without independent verification. We are not responsible if Directory Data is wrong or if you rely on it to your detriment.

7. Reviews, ratings, and opinions

Reviews and ratings reflect the opinions of individual contributors, not TwoBeerDudes. We do not guarantee the quality, safety, or availability of any beer, brewery, or establishment listed on the Service. Always drink responsibly and follow local laws.

8. Third-party services and links

The Service may link to third-party websites (including brewery sites, social networks, our blog, and map or routing providers) and use third-party tools such as Google Analytics, Google reCAPTCHA, Google Maps, and OpenRouteService. We do not control and are not responsible for third-party content, policies, or practices. Your use of third-party services is at your own risk and subject to their terms.

9. Intellectual property

The Service, including its design, logos, text, graphics, software, and compilation of Directory Data (excluding User Content), is owned by TwoBeerDudes or its licensors and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from the Service except as allowed by these Terms or with our prior written consent.

10. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE AND ALL DIRECTORY DATA ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE.

Alcohol consumption involves health and safety risks. Content on the Service is not medical, legal, or professional advice. Never drink and drive.

11. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, TwoBeerDudes AND ITS OPERATORS, CONTRIBUTORS, AND SUPPLIERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE OR DIRECTORY DATA, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE OR THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM (TYPICALLY ZERO FOR A FREE ACCOUNT) OR (B) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (US $100).

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the fullest extent permitted by law.

12. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless TwoBeerDudes and its operators from any claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from your User Content, your use of the Service, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.

13. Changes to the Service and Terms

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. We may update these Terms by posting a revised version on this page and updating the “Last updated” date. Material changes may be communicated on the site or by email where appropriate. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

14. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where mandatory consumer protection laws in your state of residence apply.

Except where prohibited by law, you agree that exclusive jurisdiction for disputes relating to these Terms or the Service lies in the state or federal courts located in Illinois, and you consent to personal jurisdiction there.

Confirm choice of law and venue with your attorney if you operate through a specific legal entity in another state.

15. General

Entire agreement: These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service.
Severability: If any provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect.
No waiver: Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of our right to do so later.
Assignment: You may not assign these Terms without our consent. We may assign them in connection with a merger or sale of assets.
