Had on tap at the brewery. Poured into a 16oz pint glass. Pale straw. Slightly to medium haze - like a wheat haze. No lacing. Aroma is slight with lemon being the about all I could pull out. Taste follows the nose almost exactly - just light lemon. No juice. No tropical fruit. Light body with medium carbonation. This is easily my least favorite beer of the year. If I was handed the beer I would have guessed, based on look, aroma, and taste that the beer was a lemon wheat or lemon shandy. I would not have this again. Enjoy!

On tap as a taster. Gold in color. Small, white foam covers, creating a thick lacing through. Impressive. Clean glass. Aroma impresses with orange blossom and citrus. There is definitely a sweetness there too. Taste is light up front building to caramel sweetness in the middle, balanced by the citrus and floral hops. Earth and spice come in late and as the beer warms. Medium body but on the initial sip very thin. Not much carbonation, probably leading to the thin body. The aroma made my mouth water. Unfortunately the beer didn’t live up to the noses set expectation. I would not have this again. Enjoy!

Had on tap at the brewery as a taster. Pours clear with not much head. Good bartender pour. Amber. Some juicy lacing that mostly slides back. Aroma is slight. Malt that shows as biscuit and floral hops. Perhaps and hint of spice. Taste brings a huge biscuit and toast. Delightful. The malts linger slightly driven back by floral and spiced hops. More on the sweet/malt finished side. Medium body, maybe. Lighter carbonation but ample for the beer. Finished a bit juicy with the mouth slowly drying. I really liked the pronounced biscuit malt. A bit unbalanced on the sweet side and finish. When I want an alternative Oktoberfest I would point here. But that would be occasional. Enjoy!

Served on tap into a tulip glass. Like it! Curved glass is always appreciated. Pours clear. Dark gold. No real foam but leaves webby lacing behind. Aroma is citrus and pine. Hint of caramel. Taste is grapefruit and pine. Both linger long into the finish. Expected and love it. Medium body. Light carbonation but fits. Dry to the bone with a deep bitter finish. This brings back memories. Darker in color than most west coast ipas. Typically cleaner malt bill to allow the hops to shine. I would have this again. Enjoy!

First stop of an after work brewery crawl. Pours clear. Straw to pale straw in color. Neary a trace of foam. Aroma is light. Floral and spice hops with a hint of cereal grain. Maybe a hint of sulfur from the yeast? Taste has a larger cereal grain presence. Hint of spice in the finish that builds on the lips. Light body with a well balanced carbonation. Crisp and clean. Spice bitterness. This would be ridiculous on a hot summer day. Not as much on a wet fall day. Still delicious. I would have it again. Enjoy!

canned on 7/27/26, tasted on 9/29/26 Huge, fluffy, soft white foam of normal retention. Appealing thick hazy, looks like a smoothie. Beer color is amber orange. Big tree fruit nose is my first impression. The aroma notes are apricot like, and then soft papaya. Very pleasing aroma, if a tad on the light side. First taste is a mélange of tree and tropical fruit. Starts sweet and then quickly morphs into a soft orange citrus bitterness, a good balance between the sweet and bitter. Individual flavor notes were hard for me to distinguish, it's a a blur of a big mix of fruits. Mouthfeel was a tad thivck. Overall a very satisfying and unique taste. Another well executed brew by HB. This brew would be competitive with the top tier hazies (yes, even vs. Tree House). Almost veers into a smoothie style IPA, except there are no adjuncts, all the fruit flavors via hops. This beer is not a one off, but I don't know the rotation position this has for the prolific HB brewery. If you see this beer and it's within two months of canning, buy it.

canned on 7/28/26, tasted on 9/29/26. Full and fluffy foam head, color is off white with normal retention. Beer is golden orange color. Aroma is a little faint. Initial impression is malt with citrus, then after further sniffs i get soft pine and a brief touch of pineapple. Appealing but faint. First sip impression is that I got a very refreshing beer, Definite citrus bite, quickly followed by light peach and misc. tropical fruits. Good body, and great carbonation. A beer that has a unique hop profile in today's hazy IPA world (Galaxy & Columbus). But it works, for this cross between hazy style and an East Coast IPA. I believe this is a flagship brew for Trillium and it's a beer worthy of that position. Very well made, and completely enjoyable. My only knock is the price of the 4-pack at $22. My local Binny's Beer Manager thought it might be due to Mass. state tax laws on beer.

Has on tap at the brewery. Pours cloudy and a bright pale gold. More than a half-finger of white foam. Wispy yet somewhat juicy lacing. Aroma is mango, citrus, grapefruit and orange. Hits of grass and sweetness. Taste is tough. It is a let down from the nose by several steps. Almost leaves a gritty/chalky finish in the mouth. Earthy/grassy bitterness that is smooth but lingers and builds. Medium or better body due to the large bubbled carbonation that hit the front of the palate. The aroma was so promising. The taste let this beer down as did the over carbonation. Not a bad beer just so many more in the style that are better. I would not have this again. Enjoy!

Had on tap at the brewery. Their freshest offering. Pours opaque and a beautiful pale gold. No foam as it was Cautiously filled to the top. Aroma jumps out of the glass. Grapefruit, lychee, and mango. Citrus and earth round it out. Taste brings some sweetness into the picture. The finish lingers with grapefruit and guava along with some hop burn that lingers. Grapefruit, mango and lychee at depth. Medium body. Good carbonation. Juicy yet dries. The alcohol is well hidden here. The huge amount of hops create a great flavor and aroma. Too bad the ABV is so high as I would like another. Enjoy!

Had on draft at the brewery. Pours opaque with sporadic sighting of deep ruby brown edges. Not too much foam - full pour. Tan with the. Readiness of the nitro. Aroma is really solid; a home run for me. Big and bold roast, coffee and milk chocolate. Vanilla with a twist of sweetness is easy to find. Taste has the boldness of roast and coffee. The coffee lingers, trumping the roast, leaving a creamy slickness on the teeth. Dark chocolate and no sweetness. Void of almost any carbonation in spite of being on nitro. Still some creaminess. Big body but on the lighter end. The aroma is top notch if you like a toasty beast. The taste isn’t as glorious but still solid. This fails me on the lack of body that is expected by the nitro tap. But that isn’t a huge issue. I would have this again. Enjoy!

Had on tap at the brewery as the start of Werktoberfest. Served in a .5L mug. Gold liquid covered by a beautiful white head. Average, at best, retention with some sporadic lacing. Aroma is bread crust and biscuit cut by some lightly sweet honey and spice. Pretty straight forward for the style but works very well. Taste is more of the nose. Biscuit, bread crust and lightly sweet honey share the frontend through the middle. The biscuit lingers slightly but it is joined and taken over by a spicy finish. Medium mouthfeel with similar mouthfeel. Dry, crisp and refreshing with a bit of linger spice bitterness. Glad I dropped by for this on tap. It is winner. Perfect and fitting for the warmth hanging out in mid-September. I plan to go back Friday for another half-liter or so. Enjoy!

Had on tap at the brewery. With Sue after tailgating at the U of I game. Pours opaque and pale gold in color. Huge white head: two fingers. Lacing to begin. Wispy yet thick. Aroma mango, sweet, and a touch dank. Not as aromatic as I would like. Taste is big darkness in the middle to the finish but that subsides on subsequent sips. Mango. Sweet. Citrus. Light carbonated, citrus bitterness that lingers. Medium body with a good carbonation. Juicy that slowly dries. First time having this on tap. So good. The aroma could use a boost but that could be the nose failing me today after a long time in the sun tailgating. I would have this again. Enjoy!

Enjoyed at the brewery on tap with Tom. Pours with a slight cloudiness. No real foam. Pinkish-red in color, almost pomegranate. Aroma is simple: wheat, acidic and light blueberry. Taste has some wheat and an ever so minuscule blueberry. The star is the tartness that almost ebbs to sour. It and the tiny bubbles tickle the roof of your mouth. Light body but with a huge, effervescence, lending to body. Juicy but lingering dryness. An inviting beer on a very hot September day. Pretty straight forward without complexity. I still really liked it. I would have it again. Enjoy!

Had on tap at the brewery while visiting with my neighbor Tom. Has a chill haze. Not much head or lacing. Straw in color. Aroma is bread crust, light biscuit and floral almost fruity hops. Taste is bready with the floral. Somewhat sweet, maybe honey. Late spice bitterness. Light body but the big end. Hefty carbonation to make the beer feel bigger. Dry and crisp. This is a great first beer of the day when it is 90 and humid. Easy to drink, low ABV. I would have this again. Enjoy!

Had at the brewery with Rich. Pours somewhat cloudy but not as cloudy as a typical hazy. Minimal off-white foam. Sporadic thick lacing. Aroma is light. Ripe nondescript tropical fruits. Apricot and peach. Taste is smooth but nothing blows you away. Pineapple, orange but not sweet. Light end of medium body. Sturdy carbonation. Dry. A good offering. Balanced. I wish had more flavor and aroma. Is this a hazy pale ale? I don’t think I would have this again as they make a ton of great beers. Enjoy!

Yellow with low level haze. Super faint aroma, maybe lemon. Taste; hard to make out any flavors. Low carbonation. Nothing wrong, just hard to make out any flavors. More like a pale ale than a IPA. Soft fruit flavors; maybe stone fruit, the sweetness and bitterness levels are to style. No personality, no dates on packaging…maybe an old beer. The weird thing is that I bought the can at a craft beer taproom, in SW Michigan. They were having a Bottle Logic tap take-over. I would assume the brewery was going to be distributed in Michigan, so it makes no sense to have shipped in, what could be non-fresh product. But not sure what the deal is, esp. consider this brewery get huge props for their BA Imp. Stouts.

Shared by Rich at TNBC. No date on can. Pours partially opaque which potentially tells me age. Not much lacing based on shared pour. Aroma is oddly lemon forward. Once again age? Taste is nondescript. Sweet lemon, maybe. Light body with almost no carbonation. Dry. This is definitely an aged beer. Nothing technically wrong but with all those hops I was excited to be blown away. Alas, I was not. Cool can art. I don’t think I want to try this again. Enjoy!

Bright gold color, hazy without any floaters. Soft white foam. Nice lacing on glass. Aroma is berries, pineapple, and faint darkness. First taste is gooseberries and citrus tanginess. Level of sweetness is appropriate for the style. Low bitterness. Tropical fruitiness in background. Lie dank level. Solid beer, very interesting and unique fruit flavor profile. Taste is a little ho-hum before finishing like a champ. Mango, tropical fruit and some type of ripe berry that lingers pleasantly. Herbal spice finish that lingers with the berry. Orange. Not sweet. Medium body - lighter end. Carbonation great for the style. Juicy in the middle until drying in the finish This is a solid offering. I can only imagine how delightful this would be fresh. Had for TNBC with Rich. Shared by Rich. No date on can. Pours opaque with minimal white head on a shared pour. No lacing. Aroma is stone fruit and sweet citrus: lemon, grapefruit and orange, maybe clementine with the sweetness level. Taste follows the nose: light, lemon, orange, sweet with possibly some apricot. Light bodied beer. Medium carbonation. Dry. Not juicy. Potentially an old can but I can only rate what’s in front of me. Nothing technically comes out just the hop profile is mute. Did I ever say I love dates on beers? I would have this again but only if it was fresh. Enjoy!
