No date on bottle but I have had this beer 2-3 years in the basement cellar.
Pours clear. Huge amount of large bubbled, white foam covers. Great staying power. Wispy, sticky lacing begins immediately. Looks solid in the glass.
Aroma of caramel, toast, and honey: sweet. Undertones of brett that fight the sweetness but don't create the most inviting conviction.
Taste fairs better but still a touch of strange: maybe I have never experienced before. Funk and sweet (caramel and honey, with the honey sticking). The beer transforms into fruits (fruit salad with a tropical twist) with a white wine finish. Both linger along with the sweet. Complex.
Medium body but not much carbonation. Dry.
The aroma was not what I expected in a saison, the sweetness was too much on the sweet side. The taste really takes this to a different place and level but still short of hitting a home run. The sweet aroma overpowers the taste at times, detracting. This is a good one-time beer for the complex uniqueness. Enjoy!

Inspired by crisp white wines, Saison Blanc features New Zealand hops, golden raisins and white pepper for a decidedly bright, spicy, and robust low ABV beer. Finished with Brettanomyces at packaging, this beer will evolve for many more years to come.
