  • Gushed out of the can upon opening. Upon pouring into the glass, huge amount of head dominate the clear, deep red liquid beneath. White with pink hues foam recedes rather quickly for its weight. Lacing is thick, quickly receding back.

Aroma is funky farmhouse Brett: horse blanket, hay, lemon grass and yeast. Faint blackberries but it seems that bugs have consumed most of the aroma that would be expected by the fruit. No vanilla.

Taste carries more berries than the aroma; maybe even a touch of sweetness which is consumed by the funkiness. The berries pleasantly linger. Vanilla: maybe. The barnyard of the aroma is more in check, sharing, nicely, the flavors with the blackberries.

Very thin mouthfeel that is boosted by a very fine effervescent carbonation. Dry. The zing of the carbonation on the back of throat is the only thing giving it some weight.

The color of this beer in the glass is fantastic: the clarity and ruby red is inviting. The flavor is much better than the aroma. The berries aren't so overwhelmed by the funk. The body of the beer leaves me wanting. If the only complaint I have is the body, then great beer. Enjoy!
