Pours extremely cloudy. Much dark than a normal NEIPA. A couple inches of white foam is created by a vigorous pour. Good retention with wispy lacing.

Aroma of peach, pineapple, orange, earth, and resin. No sweetness and the hop aroma is actually light overall.

Taste is not much different than the nose. Peach, pineapple, and orange give a nice fruity taste. Late earth, resin, and hop burn. The hop burn creates a perceived bitterness.

Light end of medium body. Medium carbonation. Juicy up front but quickly dries with the earthy bitterness. Bitterness does subside between sips.

Purchased two cans of this beer. The second is going to sit for a seven to ten days so the hop burn drops out a bit. Comparing this to Silt, which I consider to be one of the best NIEPAs made in the Chicagoland area, DDH Silt just doesn't live up to that reputation. The muted hop aroma/flavor sets up to fail immediately. The hop burn and subsequent bitterness does not help either. I will have this again but only because I have a second can.
    Enjoy!

Beer Notes
  • Double Dry Hopped New England Style DIPA with Galaxy and Citra hops. A more intense version of one of our favorite beers. Brewed with double our usual dry hop addition, DDH Silt is saturated with flavors of citrus, passion fruit, peach, and pineapple.
