Purchased at Flight Bottle Shoppe on 2020-09-24. Date on can of 09/22/20.
Pours clear (unlike the typical Hop Butcher beer) with an inch of white foam. Retention is a bit below average but it doesn't race away. Sporadic, thin lacing.
Aroma is dank with big pineapple up front. The hop aroma seems to subside and lie down quickly, revealing a bread maltiness underneath. Light orange citrus and apricot.
Taste has a bready malt backgone. The hops from the aroma are muted in the mouth. The malt takes most of the late limelight. Lightly dank, orange and apricot. Tropical fruits are gone.
Light body but with medium carbonation, possibly more. Dry with a bit of bitterness.
The maltiness of this pale ale was much appreciated, bringing back to days of yore. Unfortunately the hops fell short, especially since they promised so much upon opening the can. They just disappeared. Enjoy!
