Poured clear with a huge, off-white foam that became frothy as it dissipated. A great amount of retention for an fest beer; probably the most I have seen. Nice spider web lacing.
Aroma is toasted, even some bread malt. A nice grassy hop scent fills with a nice balance of malt and hops.
Taste has some sweet up front with the middle big on toasted/roasted malt. Finishes with some bread malt but mostly hops. Slight bitterness which quickly ends.
Light body and carbonation but crisp and refreshing. A good amber ale.
Definitely a faux Oktoberfest beer in that this is a lager but comes with a better balance and more hops than a normal Oktoberfest. Very drinkable. I really liked this beer and will have it again, might even make the annual list. Enjoy!
