Poured very dark with a brown, single-finger foam. Retention wasn't there as it quickly disappeared to a ring on the glass but, amazingly, had some blotchy lacing.
Coffee is the main aroma; dark coffee. Notes of roasted malt and chocolate find there way also.
Taste is a splash of sweet before the coffee comes along with roasted malt, chocolate, and even slight hint of smoke. A bit of roasted, maybe black patent malt, in the after taste.
Full bodied beer with comparable carbonation. Thick and almost chewy.
I couldn't sense the macadamia or coconut in this beer. I think there were too many other big flavors/aromas that took away from these. A very good beer that I wouldn't mind a few more times. Enjoy!
