  • Poured clear and somewhat opaque into my snifter. Foam was thick, off-white, frothy and huge. Retention was good while lacing the glass with a thick, sticky foam throughout.

Aroma had some citrus hops up front but dissipated as the beer sat in the glass. Malt is the main focus as the roasted, bread, and caramel/toffee notes surface and dominate.

Taste is not what I expected. Sweet caramel and toffee malt start and end quickly with a blast of hop bitterness (not much taste) and bread malt in the middle. With the bitterness lasting into the finish and a round of roasted, although subdued, taking over for the malt.

Medium body beer with a bit of thickness to it. Carbonation is crisp and clean addition. A touch of creaminess comes and goes, more towards the middle/end of the beer.

Not a bad beer, just not to my overall satisfaction. If you like malty, rich ambers than this is a beer for you but it isn't for me. Enjoy!
