  • Pours clear with a huge amount of tan, frothy foam filling the glass. Retention is really good with the foam even becoming thicker as it dissipates. Lacing is thick yet not sticky.

Aroma seems to have a big amount of citrus hops up front. Continuing to waft the beer yields caramel, sweet, nut, and even chocolate or roasted malt. Even seems to be a bit of spice: probably hops.

Taste starts with the malts that do last throughout and change mildly: caramel, sweet, nut, chocolate, and roast are all present and accounted for. The hop profile is there for weight to balance. Not really that bitter but there is a spiciness and a some spice.

A prickly carbonation on top of a light-medium body. Carbonation is probably a little too much.

The carbonation is a sticking point for me. Overall the underlying beer isn't bad and put a nice twist on it. Don't expect your typical English brown. Enjoy!
