Hairy Cow Brewing

Third stop of the day. I had Mullet Nectar, a German Pilsner, named for one of the regulars that has been sporting a mullet for a long time. They serve food but had eaten earlier at Lena Brewing. A wood fired stove that was pumping out personal pizzas at a regular pace in spite of light crowd in middle of a Saturday. The place is open with a patio, high ceilings and an outdoor seating area on the one side of the brewery. The thing that got me is the amount of time I had to sit and wait, upon arrival, to be noticed at a bar with only 5 people and maybe 30% of the restaurant seating full. Thereafter, the service didn't really pick up. The bartender did ask if I wanted another beer and I told her I was off to my last stop at Ogle County Brewery, she told me I was better off with another beer there because Ogle sucked. I didn't care for that! The price as about right for the area. Easy to get to and located on the beautiful Rock River. I would like to come back to sit on the patio, enjoy the Rock River, and have a pizza. Enjoy!
