Trails Edge Brewing Co

Trails Edge is a brewpub: they brew beer and serve food. I have been here before so I sort of knew what to expect from the beer side of things. I had their marzen, which was just tapped. I don't remember the name (same for the waitress) but this was a below average offering. It had a burnt rubber taste in the middle to the finish, which I equate to high fermentation temperatures fro the lager yeast. The food is amazing! Quality, homemade food and a lot of it. I had the brisket grilled cheese. A bit different take on it than I expected but outstanding and loaded w/ the brisket and a complimentary amount of cheese. The cheese curd appetizer is light, homemade, and delicious. Highly recommended. Service can make or break the experience as much as the food/drink. The waitress we had was very accommodating while we waiting for my wife and for my mom's 85th birthday. Friendly, helpful and great service. They have a huge outside eating area this time of year - the street is blocked off. Then a large bar and seating area inside (3 floors I believe). Nicely decorated and lit, making for a comfortable experience. Pricing was about spot on. The $8 pint bugged me because the beer wasn't good. The $19 for brisket sandwich was a slighty above expected but worth it based on the quality. Right in downtown Frankfort on the corner. Easy to see from the road, public and street parking. The food and service will bring me back but I don't know if I would have another beer. Enjoy!
