First time flyer. Stopped on the way to a Northwestern woman's basketball game. Easy to get to with street parking that was free on Sunday. Great start. The building had some age but the was beautifully remodeled. The high, arched ceiling was great architecture. Big space inside with room for an small upstairs section. Wood fire stove for pizzas made it feel homey. Surprisingly a low number of people on a Sunday afternoon. The service as okay from a the server. 3 of the 5 orders we made were "special": no pickles, dressing on the side, and no gardinier. Seemingly simple. All were wrong but they offered to fix. The one minus gardinier was half eaten since my daughter was so hungry. They took it off the bill. The manager (possibly the head brewer/owner) stopped by to speak to us. Very nice. Responsive. Even noticed he talked to the kitchen afterwards. If it wasn't for this act, the service rating would be much lower. The food was okay. I had a chicken sandwich which as 50% more bun than chicken. I watch cooking shows; not a good ratio. Other than the few mishaps everyone liked their food. The beer was okay, average, maybe, but nothing that would make me go out of my way for it. If you are in the area for a Norhtwestern game or activity, not a bad place to stop just as long as you don't get your hopes up or push your expectations over the top. Enjoy!
