Poured from a can without a date. Purchased as a two pack about 4 weeks ago.
Pours dark as night and opaque. It will compete with and imperial stout for richness of color. Two fingers of fantastically earthen brown mocha foam covers. Awesome retention.
Aroma jumps out at you. Coffee, sweetness (seemingly from lactose), sweet chocolate, roasted coffee with vanilla. Robust.
Taste follows the nose. Unfortunately the sweetness is out of site. I have a hard time getting past all the sweetness; start-to-finish of the sip.
Heavy body with low carbonation, but doesn't need it. Leaves the lips sticky from all the sugars.
Definitely a beer to drink fresh. This is the second can of the two pack and about a month old. Some of the coffee has fallen back and allowing roasted flavors late in the taste. If you like cake stouts and/or coffee in a beer, Kittywampus should be on the top of your list. Enjoy! - 919 characters
