Pours opaque with a huge, mocha foam. Good retention. The recession leaves some lacing behind.

Aroma reminded me immediately of German chocolate cake, which is my favorite cake and made each year on my birthday. Chocolate, coconut, and richness. Sweetness reminds me of milk chocolate.

Taste of chocolate, brown sugar, and cake richness. Nice coconut is there too. Unfortunately mid to late taste there is an odd flavor. I don't know if it is caused by the coconut or almond oil but it just beats up the preciseness of this beer (it is almost metallic in nature). Late alcohol burn.

Super thick and heavy. Above average carbonation. Dry with just some residual sweetness stuck to the lips.

The aroma on this beer is just about spot on for being a German chocolate cake. It is fantastic. The taste stouts out like this beer will be a grand slam but that late flavor profile that I pick up just skews the entire experience. If it wasn't for that I would have rated this beer well into the 9s. Also, that flavor and price point keeps me away from trying it again. Enjoy!
