Purchased at Flight Bottle Shoppe on 08/27/2020. No date on can.
Pours opaque with a very late arriving mocha foam, even on a vigorous pour. Assuming the oils from the coconut might beat it back. Foam quickly recedes without a trace.
Aroma is big. Coffee, coconut, sweet chocolate and brown sugar.
Taste is coffee, sweet chocolate, brown sugar, and roast. The finish is a bit harsh: the roast, possibly from the coffee, clashes with the carbonation and chocolate to linger, for a long time. This does seems to mellow as the beer warms and multiple sips, assuming that it is wearing in the taste buds.
Huge body. A bit more carbonation than expected. Dry but does leave some residual sugars on the lips.
This is a really solid beer. The harshness in the finish early on is a detractor. Well hidden ABV and low residual sweetness make this easy to drink and thus dangerous. The high price point is another sticking point for me but I would have this beer gain. Enjoy!
