Pours cloudy with a deeper hue than normal for the style of beer but assume that is due to the coffee. A vigorous pour brings on several inches of off white, large bubbled, wispy foam. Retention is solid with meringue type lacing.
Aroma of vanilla, milk sugar, and tropical fruit. Coffee is hinted at, having to almost be found. Very pleasant on the nose without being overpowering in any way/facet.
Taste of tropical fruit, vanilla, and hints of milk sugar. The finish brings on coffee but lightly; almost the perfect amount to highlight and let the base beer shine through. No bitterness. There is a bit of an aftertaste that is more milky, creamy residuals on the tongue.
Medium body, plus some, being aided by a creaminess. Light carbonation but it isn't needed. Dry finish with a bit of sugars on the lips.
This is easily the best MilkShake IPA that I have had. If more of them was this well crafted and balanced I wouldn't steer clear of them as much as I do. I will definitely be looking for this beer again. Enjoy!

Milkshake IPA with coffee, vanilla, and lactose. We sourced this batch of coffee from FreshGround Roasting in Geneva, Illinois, choosing their Ethiopian Yirgacheffe blend. The result is a creamy, smooth, yet coffee-forward milkshake IPA reminiscent of your favorite coffee shop's sweetened latte.
