Aroma: Definately unusual, not in a bad way. Hard to place the scents, I'm calling it roasted and dried fruit.
1st Taste: Dry, definate roasted grains and maybe slight hints of a milk stout.
Overall: Not getting dried fruit in taste, and starting to pick up a little of the 7.75% abv. Not a bad beer but not sure if the blend of flavors come together correctly. Kind of dry finish for what should be a heavier version of stout. Maybe it's too English for me.
Pours as clear as I can tell. Nice bubbly, brown foam that takes up half my glass. Fair retention as the foam becomes frothy in its diminished state. Lacing is splotchy.
Aroma of molasses, slight dark fruits, and a lot of roasted malt.
Taste mainly roasted with slight coffee and chocolate in the finish with a slight bitterness to the after taste.
Dry in the mouth with medium carbonation yet a bit of creaminess.
Seems to be a roasted up milk stout. A good beer just probably not a style that I would seek out on a regular basis. Enjoy!
