  • As I poured the beer several hop cones dropped into my glass letting me know, visually, that this beer was going to be hop heaven. The pour had a single finger width of off-white foam, with little retention. The leftover bubbles did lace my glass to the final sip.

    The first aromas to fill my nostrils were citrus - very fruity and originally very strong. A couple of more sniffs lead to the take over of pine scents. There is also some caramel malts to the aroma. If the taste is anything like the aroma, this is going to be one blimpish beer!

    Help, I am struggling to free myself from rampant hop vines! The beginning flavor is that of the caramel/sweet malts from the aroma, but then a brief moment later, the wave of hops comes at you, one after another.

    The sweetness of the malts is nicely blended with the hops, but don't kid yourself and anyone else, there isn't enough sweetness to completely balance the hops. On the other side, those waves of hops are damn tasty. The high alcohol is nicely hidden but it sticks a boot in your rear end when it comes to giving you a buzz.

    The tsunami of hops is equally met by the bigness of the beer in the mouth and the carbonation.

    Everything I expected from this beer has been surpassed. The complexity, aroma, and flavor of this beer is to be appreciated. I called the flavor a tsunami, in honor of that reference, I have to call this beer ENORMOUS. Do not do it injustice and call it anything smaller. Enjoy!
