Poured with barely any head but the little that was there was light brown, had little retention, and almost no lacing.
The aroma was cocoa and more cocoa as the name suggests. There was also roasted malt and some coffee/mocha. Taste is up front and in the middle with cocoa and mocha but finishes with a strong alcohol taste and bitterness of the cocoa. Both of these flavors are too strong for me in the finish. Doesn't seem like they really try to hide the alcohol. Not that great of a balance.
I even tried this with a piece of bitter chocolate (63%) and it did help to cut through some of the bitterness. It was a good compliment to the beer.
The beer was medium or better in the mouth with quite a bit of creaminess. There was a lot of carbonation too.
This is a coffee, cocoa, milk stout that definitely isn't the cream of the crop but is an average attempt. The ending of this beer could be tidied up a bit and I think they might have a winner. Enjoy!
