Opening the first of three bombers I got while visiting the Three Floyds bar and pub. Number four didn't make it as it exploded in the back of the van, but that story has been told.
Beer pours a gold and clear, with almost no foam. No retention but the thin line did have a little bit of lacing. Nothing great.
Big contingent of malt on the nose (breadiness) with some yeast. The flavor follows the aroma. More malt with sweetness and breadiness. There is also a herbal/spiciness to both the nose and palate - very slight. Had to dig to find.
Medium mouth feel and mild carbonation. A very good representation of the Helles style. Enjoyed the beer.
I would have a couple more if I would have purchased them but Three Floyds seems to price their beer high. People are paying it though, so get what you can.
