Let me start off with a little history of the beer. This beer was brewed about 4 - 5 years ago and stopped being brewed. Why? The price of the rice soared up to $10 per pound. Expensive stuff. So there was a hiatus and now they bring it back as their summer beer. I know they are using cheaper rice so I don't know how "wild" this beer will actually taste.
Pours with four fingers of fluffy, white foam. The foam quickly disappeared leaving the usual white film on top of the beer. Lacing lasts throughout.
Aroma is rice, some earthy and grain undertones also. Lil' bit of honey. Not much of a sniffer.
Honey, rice, and light grains to the taste. Like the aroma, not much here. But still crisp and clean with a slight drying out on the finish.
Medium carbonation and light body make for a crisp and refreshing drink. Easy to drink many of these on a warm and/or humid day. I guess rice beers aren't going to be that filling in any way. Enjoy!
