Axis: Bold as Beer

Pours clear albeit quit dark. Huge amounts of tan foam: 70% of the glass or more; makes me think infection. Retention is average for the amount of foam, frothing up as it goes. Nice lacing. Aroma makes me think of cola. Light coffee but the cola beats it down. Hints of sweetness and smoke. Taste of toffee, caramel with hints of smoke and coffee. Medium body with a big carbonation (too much). Dry finish. I expected this beer to be more coffee forward. Instead, it is a solid brown ale with side notes of coffee. The carbonation is way over the top. Enjoy!
